Come to think ofit, the oil pressure might be slightly lower than before, but I had putthat down to long distance high speed running. "Worse when the motor is hot?" Yes.The car is as strong as ever, pulls to the limiter in 5th on theautobahn, has 4 bar oil pressure when hot at high rpm. "Only at higher RPM under medium tofull load?" Yes. I visitedmy local mechanic and we drove for no more than 1 km before he said turnaround and keep the revs down. I've noticed the sound isgetting slowly more apparent and can be induced in all gears. hoping tofind something rattling or banging.
I've checkedall the swaybar mountings, motor mounts, exhaust brackets, etc. Had this professionally done but didn't fix it. I initially thought the noise was valves in need ofadjustment. Declutch and the motor revs freelywithout the noise. I've noticed over the past several months that at higher RPM (>3500) thetone of the motor changes significantly, adding a mechanical brrrrrrsound growley, NOT ticky or high pitched, that varies with rpm but isless apparent on light throttle.
